Abstract

Deforestation is one of the concerns around the world as it causes massive loss of green cover from the Earth surface. The assessment of the level and extent of forest losses can be provided by continuous monitoring in order to plan and successfully execute forest related schemes for its protection and conservation. The degradation of the forest is one of the biggest concerns in the whole world. The priority to assess the forest loss is necessary for the sustainability of all living organisms. In order to manage forest resources, this study has been focused on the understanding the spatial-temporal changes of forest cover of Tripura state for the time-period of four decades by using the Earth observation dataset.
